On Friday, October 18, 2013 the Los Angeles Times published article titled Americans want to dump Congress Members. After the government finally re-opend, it seems Americans are still not happy with their Congress members. The article mainly talks about how people are not to thrilled and really do not trust the Congress members. In a survey that the author uses, he says that 4 out of 10 voters do not want their representatives re-elected and 19% of people say they trust the government to do the right thing. With the American people so upset its clear to readers that the author does a great job at showing this, by using statistics to really get the point across. He also goes as far as to open up the article by saying that the American public likes Homeland Security more, Federal Bureaucrats more, and the IRS even far far more.
After reading this article I would recommend this to my peers because in my opinion I feel like the author does a great job giving examples and also using statistics to his advantage. My perspective is I do think the American public is upset and I agree on what was said, because we rely on these representatives to get stuff done. I hope now we can move forward as a nation now that people are back at work and I hope Congress gets it together.
